Besides being a personal choice, straight edge is a political choice. It is the strongest protest an individual can make against an industry that kills people. Alcohol destroys lives, tobacco destroys lives. Illegal drugs destroy lives. While their lives are destroyed, money flows into the pockets of people that don’t care what their products do to people, they only care about the profits they are gaining. Capitalism shows its worst face in the drug-industry. Literally making money by killing people.
